How to Remove a User Account

Removing an Ubuntu user account is simple:

# userdel sam

To remove the user and their user directory files:

# userdel -r sam

To remove the user from the sudo file:

# visudo

# User privilege specification
root    ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
sam ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL

Delete the line with the user on it:

# User privilege specification
root    ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
